Car Nexus
uses state-of-the-art security
The information you
enter will be encrypted and securely transmitted.
Why your transaction with Car Nexus is secure
There are two major types of security risks in sending data
over the Internet: eavesdropping and impersonation. Car Nexus uses
Secure Sockets Layer (SSL for short) to combat both of these risks.
SSL has been standard equipment on browsers for several years. If your
computer has version 4 or higher of Netscape Navigator, Internet
Explorer or AOL you have SSL.
Protection from impersonation
SSL server authentication allows your browser to confirm a
server's identity. Using standard techniques of public-key
cryptography, it checks that the server's certificate and public ID
are valid and have been issued by a certificate authority (CA) listed
in the browser's list of trusted CAs. Car Nexus is registered and has
obtained digital certificates for www.carnexus.com and its subdomains.
Protection from
eavesdropping
An SSL connection encrypts all information sent between your
browser and our server. This provides an extremely high degree of
confidentiality. In addition, all data sent over an encrypted SSL
connection is protected with a mechanism for detecting tampering--that
is, for automatically determining whether the data has been
altered in transit.
Once you are in the loan application page, you can verify that your
session is secure in two ways:
-
Look for the small padlock icon, usually lcoated in the lower
right corner of your web browser window. A closed or locked
padlock indicates a secure connection.
-
Look for the letters "https://"at the beginning of the web
site address or URL in your Web browser. The "s" means secure.
